Coyote vs. ACME (2026), a film whose looney saga (which I’ve been covering) is certainly one for the annals of film history, finally opens August 28th. (… Well, kind of. Stay tuned to find out how you may not have to wait that long!)

How are we supposed to wait that long with nothing Looney Tunes to tide us over? You don’t have to! Here’s a roundup of everything that’s happened since the final trailer was released.
New TV spots have been spotted from Latin America featuring footage not seen in U.S. trailers thus far.

InstagramCOYOTE VS ACME LATINOAMÉRICAAug 7, 2026Coyote vs. ACME screened for the public for the first time (besides the original test screenings before its original planned 2023 release) on Saturday, July 25th, at Comic-Con. First reactions lit up social media, and from what this writer saw, reactions have been overwhelmingly positive.
The Coyote vs. ACME social media team’s been heating up like a wick getting closer to detonating dynamite. On July 27th, there was a third “ACME Files” drop. While the second drop referenced Tiny Toon Adventures characters Calamity Coyote and Little Beeper, this third drop reaches deeper into Looney Tunes history with references to Pinky and The Brain (from Animaniacs and their own eponymous show) and none other than Willie Wombat of the Taz-Mania TV show! (I suppose we’d have to wait until the 24th 1/2 century to see the files from the Duck Dodgers cases.)

Many new posters popped up online and in theaters and locations all over the world, including this poster, which brings to mind the Greek myth of Sisyphus, is great timing with The Odyssey (2026)’s release, and is very funny regardless…

Speaking of “uphill battles” (*ahem* Sisyphus) on August 6th, Coyote vs. ACME’s social media “leaked” an “Internal Memorandum” obtained from inside the ACME Corporation, which contained more news, including confirming that Coyote vs. ACME will show in 4DX.

Ketchup Entertainment’s marketing has taken a route I’d hope they would, advertising through the law office of Avery, Jones, and Maltese. They’re a real law office, of course: they even have a website… and an Instagram! Just follow the website’s directions and look “Behind the Weinerschnitzel”… which actually is at the site’s listed address.
The site’s bursting at the seams of its code with text gags, visual gags, and references. Both the website and the Coyote vs. ACME social media have posted ads for the Avery, Jones, and Maltese law firms, in the style of those local lawyer commercials you see at 2:00 in the morning or on local programming. (I hope these air on TV in exactly that context. Catch late-night or local programming viewers by surprise.) I particularly enjoy the false “Skip Ads” button.
InstagramAvery Jones & MalteseJul 24, 2026I really hope this website stays up after Coyote vs. ACME comes out so everyone can discover it and catch all the gags and references.
I’d love to know how much of this footage is from the film, how much may be from what was supposed to be the film’s original marketing campaign, and how much may be new material filmed for this marketing campaign.
If you can’t wait until August 28th, Rotten Tomatoes debuted an exclusive clip of Wile E. Coyote’s first meeting with Kevin Avery…
And if you really can’t wait until August 28th… you don’t have to! AMC Theatres is hosting “Coyote vs. ACME Early Access” screenings this Sunday, August 23rd, at 1:00 pm local time.
After all, summer’s going faster than you think. Why not do something a little fun, a little weird… and a little dangerous (… movie-wise!)?
