Coyote vs. ACME PSA Warns You to Kaboom Responsibly… So You Can See Coyote vs. ACME!

Just in time for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the (live action) stars of Coyote vs. ACME (2026) star in a PSA warning for firework (and firecracker, TNT, and all other explosives) safety. “Kaboom responsibly”… so you can see Coyote vs. ACME on August 28th, of course!

John Cena (who plays Buddy Crane, ACME’s head lawyer), Will Forte (Kevin Avery, Wile E. Coyote’s lawyer), and Lana Condor (Paige Avery, Kevin’s niece who also works at Kevin’s firm) appear in this satirical PSA, which was posted on YouTube and other social media on July 1st.

The statistic Cena cites about firework injuries is pretty accurate, according to this report from the American Fireworks Standards Laboratory. In all seriousness, be extra careful around anything that heats up, explodes, or both this Fourth of July.

… But of course, we’re here to look at what this PSA means for Coyote vs. ACME!

We get a nice vocal intro from Bugs Bunny. Whether or not the firework footage accompanying that voiceover is from the film is yet to be seen.

White text on a background of black sky with red fireworks going off reads in all capital letters, “AN IMPORTANT 4TH OF JULY PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT,” in a satirical firework safety PSA promoting the film, “Coyote vs. ACME” (2026).
Honestly, I’m more likely to listen to a PSA from Bugs Bunny than some super dramatic narrator.

Cena, Forte, and Condor stand in a visually fun setup with visible film set lights, ACME crates, dynamite, rockets, tumbleweeds, cacti, and a backdrop of an American Southwest landscape. (I find that last one a particularly nice touch, as it brings to mind the famous gag of Coyote and Road Runner cartoon backgrounds and tunnels that can’t decide whether they’re real or painted.)

Some of the film footage has been seen in other trailers and promos, such as Wile E. Coyote plopping a huge pile of ACME TNT bundles on a table at a security check. But this PSA also shows new footage. There’s a fun scene of Wile E. Coyote holding up a single lit stick of dynamite in the Avery, Jones, and Maltese law office, waiting for it to explode––– which it does.

PSA: This is not the Statue of Liberty.

More new footage shows a new live action fireball of an explosion. A short sequence shows Wile E. Coyote using the ACME rocket-powered skates featured in the trailer and other promo images. Those rocket-powered skates are shaping up to be important. Here, they send him zooming down a road until he launches into the air and soars across the sky, when the footage cuts to fireworks in the sky.

Fly like an eagle… or a coyote.

Most of the PSA is focused on the live action actors. While yes, safety is absolutely crucial when dealing with fireworks and other pyrotechnics and explosives for entertainment, the script has fun with the idea of cartoon characters dealing with it versus those of us stuck in live action. Cartoon characters can get blasted, wipe the dust off their face, and bounce back…

Lana Condor, standing next to Will Forte, advises, “But YOU are a human being with bones,” in a satirical firework safety PSA promoting the film, “Coyote vs. ACME” (2026).
Dang, those always get in the way of fun…

And there’s a reminder that, fitting for the Fourth of July, this is a very American PSA…

Will Forte, standing next to Lana Condor, warns, “And deductible based healthcare,” in a satirical firework safety PSA promoting the film, “Coyote vs. ACME” (2026).
I shudder to think what ACME Medical Insurance would be.

As all three actors remind us at the end of this PSA, “Kaboom responsibly”… because you want to have the same number of attached body parts you have now when you buy tickets, go to a theater, and, hopefully, laugh your lungs out (safely) when Coyote vs. ACME explodes in theaters across America (and the world) on August 28th.

With that, this PSA delivers three vitally important messages…

1. Kaboom responsibly.
2. See Coyote vs. ACME on August 28th
And 3…

John Cene, standing next to Will Forte, who’s demonstrating pointing by pointing upward, says with a smile, “Daily prostate exam,” in a satirical firework safety PSA promoting the film, “Coyote vs. ACME” (2026).
… This movie’s PG.
