Hey all, Will Johnson here, the President of the Cinephile Hissy Fit Cinema Awards where it just so happens Marvel films win Best Picture and Samantha Robinson always wins Best Actress. Don Shanahan has no voting rights for this award ceremony, it should be noted. In the CHF world, Black Panther didn’t lose to {expletive deleted} Green Book! But I digress.
On the fifth, special edition episode of the Cinephile Hissy Fit podcast, Don and Will go into the politics and evolution of the Best Picture category, digging through personal Oscar memories of decades past as well as predicting the flailing award show’s future. And after that discussion, they get into 2021’s nominees themselves, reviewing all eight films on a love/hate/middle scale.
If you are looking for more in-depth reviews outside of the podcast, you can find reviews of seven of the Best Picture nominees on 25YL, linked below (somehow we missed writing on The Father!).
