Behold: A Cinephile Hissy Fit!

Hello everyone. My name is Will Johnson and I am one half of the Cinephile Hissy Fit podcast team. Who is the other guy? Who cares?!

Ok fine, I’m contractually obligated to tell you it is Don Shanahan.

Anyway, moving on. Thanks to 25YL Media and The Ruminations Radio Network, Cinephile Hissy Fit is yet another podcast about movies. But while there are loads and loads of movie pods out there dedicating hours and hours to one film or another, Cinephile Hissy Fit is svelt and trim, just like me! In a little under (or over) thirty minutes, depending on how much of an actual hissy fit we’re having, one of us acts as a “lover” of one particular film each week while the other acts as a “hater”. The lover is given five minutes, uninterrupted, to discuss why the film rules. Then the hater gets his five minutes, uninterrupted, to discuss why the film sucks. And once that is done, the remaining 15 minutes are dedicated to the two loggerheads whining and scratching at each other until a consensus is made (just kidding, there never is one).

We think you’ll enjoy Don and I’s banter as we are both press accredited film critics writing for 25YL who are pretty confident they know what they are talking about, pretty awesome dads, and financially struggling school teachers. So we are probably smarter than you—Don wrote that part. Our plan is to offer you quick and easy rants on movies from yesteryear and today, that you can easily consume on the way to work or when you exercise. We’re clear, concise, and opinionated—except for the first few episodes where I forgot I need an actual mic and it sounds like I’m broadcasting from Venus.
