Cinephile Hissy Fit Bows to the Blades of Predator: Killer of Killers

The hosts of the Cinephile Hissy Fit podcast, sponsored and supported by the Ruminations Radio Network, come to the Predator franchise with different levels of fandom. For a long time, thanks to a slew of terrible sequels and comebacks, Don Shanahan could take or leave the series, outside of the original film and the recent back-to-basics Prey. Lead host Will Johnson, however, is the unofficial president of the Predator 2 Fan Club, where that one is on top of the heap. Both men have found their rankings broken and challenged by the new Predator: Killer of Killers animated film.

For their 202nd episode, two sneak-attacking film critics, two camoflauged dads, and two warrior teachers, Will Johnson and Don Shanahan, draw their swords and pistols on the frequently-mentioned Predator franchise on the podcast. In June, Hulu released the stunningly animated Predator: Killer of Killers, which continues the new stewardship of writer-director Dan Trachtenberg, who put Predator back in the intimating and scary side of cinema with Prey a few years ago. The new anthology-structured film pulls off action that would burst fake arteries and budgets in live-action, but look like a million bucks animated. And, look at Predator start to paint with a little L.O.R.E. with its portending connections! Come learn more and stay for the mutual love and respect that fun movies encapsulate. Enjoy our podcast!
