Cinephile Hissy Fit Episode 8 Talks About a Film You Already Forgot About

Remember when things were normal in the world and the space-time continuum didn’t feel like a hellscape? Remember when days were actually days and months were actually months? No? Neither do I, as I now enter the 36th hour of the 400th day of May. Will Johnson here to let you know that Episode 8 of the Cinephile Hissy Fit podcast —featuring bald-but-sexy-like-Picard Don Shanahan as co-host—discusses a film that, depending on your warped sense of time in these pandemic days, either came out just a mere month and a half ago or in the seventh generation of Lord Zanu before the tides broke. Yes, it’s Godzilla vs. Kong! Believe it or not, it only came out on March 31st, 2021. Which, well, feels like ages ago.

Here at 25YL, we try to stay topical and current. And when we recorded this episode, we actually were responding to press screener copies of Godzilla vs. Kong that Don and I got early so… why did the episode come out now and not then? Well, look, dear listener, we kind of forgot. We spend the whole episode hating on the damn thing so naturally, we phased it out of our minds.

Also, I apparently have the most masculine voice in existence. Needless to say, Don’s small-man voice was constantly muffled by my gargantuan vocal cords and our brave editor Mitch had to figure out why I was screaming at Don and breaking eardrums like I was the fat version of Black Bolt. Second, during the recording of the podcast, I became extremely ill. I seriously remember breaking out into a cold sweat and forcing back vomit as I talked about a stupid movie where a monkey punches a lizard.

So, without further ado, see if you can manage to hear Don speak and if you can spot the moment I turned green. If you like that sort of thing and need more, follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook! We are very responsive there and will gladly answer any of your questions (with fewer volume problems). Cinephile Hissy Fit is a 25YL production and part of the Ruminations Radio Network!

PS, Don reviewed a bunch of these new Godzilla movies either because he was forced to at gunpoint or he’s just flipping crazy. Find them below:
