Bending the old Rick James quote from Chappelle’s Show, popular wrestling and entertainment podcaster Chris Van Vliet of Insight with Chris Van Vliet often loves to say, “nostalgia is a hell of a drug.” He’s not wrong. When the right memories are triggered, the right entertainment vessels using that nostalgia are irresistible. For a certain miniature generation of kids who grew up in the early 1980s, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe burned white-hot for its two seasons of TV existence and toy shelf dominance before being lapped by bigger intellectual properties. Those that remember hold it dear, making this year’s long-gestating Masters of the Universe film adaptation the drug they’ve been waiting for.

The three of them grew up on He-Man in the 1980s and were primed to celebrate it again with its summer blockbuster return. Come learn more and stay for the mutual love and respect that fun movies encapsulate. Enjoy our podcast!
