The Bikeriders Rolls Over the Cinephile Hissy Fit

Much like the new release review that ran for The Bikeriders last month on Film Obsessive, the hosts of the Cinephile Hissy Fit podcast sponsored and supported by the Ruminations Radio Network have a certain feeling when they hear the growl of a group of motorcycle engines. They’re not scared of it. They’re not bothered by it. They’re drawn to it enough to want to feel that power too. Both of the hosts are heading to their local libraries and Amazon accounts to find the photography book that inspired Jeff Nichols’ film. In the meantime, they were ready for a good chat.

For their 163rd episode, two leather jacket film critics, two un-helmeted dads, and two wild one teachers, Will Johnson and Don Shanahan, come together for a new release of the summer 2024 movie season. The guys rev themselves up to welcome back writer-director Jeff Nichols with The Bikeriders starring Austin Butler, Jodie Comer, and Tom Hardy. Neither of our hosts ride motorcycles, but they came to this movie with their own gassy exhaust and asphalt-rattling rumbing. Come learn more and stay for the mutual love and respect for the fun movies encapsulate. Enjoy our podcast!
