The Cinephile Hissy Fit podcast has noticed what a great many other movie lovers and film aficionados have noticed in the last few years. To say it simply, the Oscars are slipping. The show is too long, unfocused, big studio money fuels the competitive races, and the dip in television ratings echoes the growing disconnect between demographics and the general pulse of popular entertainment.
