The hosts of the Cinephile Hissy Fit podcast, sponsored and supported by the Ruminations Radio Network, are willing to ask if you’ve ever binged an entire series—film or otherwise—and, instead of feeling enriching euphoria and a strong sense of completion at the end, you are simply exhausted. You realize what you were watching had it peaks that brought you there in the first place, coupled with the weight of excessive bloat that comes from something going on too long or overstaying its welcome. As entertaining and borderline iconic as the Mission: Impossible franchise became, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and this summer’s finale, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning had that effect on our resident podcast.

For their 211th episode, two mask-pulling film critics, two special agent dads, and two stuntman teachers, Will Johnson and Don Shanahan, finish their four-episode retrospective covering two films of the Mission: Impossible franchise at a time. With exhaustion and indifference to AI, our guys put a bow on Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning, and the dominant Ethan Hunt chapter of Tom Cruise’s career. We’re eager to see what the 63-year-old does next after hanging up his harnesses and parachutes. Come learn more and stay for the mutual love and respect that fun movies encapsulate. Enjoy our podcast!
