Let’s be honest. The guys at the Cinephile Hissy Fit podcast, sponsored and supported by the Ruminations Radio Network, don’t know what money looks like. They are lowly school teachers and unpaid podcasters. If you say “billion” to them, they’re going to think of papers to grade or people that annoy them more than dollar bills. However, they are historians at heart where when “billion” makes it into movies—and two billion at that—they are going to take notice and see what all the fuss is about and surf the big waves made by Avatar: The Way of Water.

For their 97th episode, two turquoise film critics, two teal dads, and two blue-ish school teachers, Will Johnson and Don Shanahan put their swim floaties and performance capture rigs on to debate the highest grossing film of 2022: Avatar: The Way of Water. Coming off of last week’s episode on all-time box office kings, our hosts knew the scope of James Cameron’s latest epic, but they debate the quality of the personal impact. Come for the shared challenge and tirade and stay for the mutual love and respect for the fun movies encapsulate. Enjoy our podcast!
