The Lord of the Rings Inspires the Cinephile Hissy Fit

Joining a great many film critics and movie fans alike, the hosts of the Cinephile Hissy Fit podcast sponsored and supported by the Ruminations Radio Network are quick to genuflect at the altar of filmmaker Peter Jackson. His The Lord of the Rings trilogy came at a time after 9/11 when a lift of epic adventure and spirit was just the kind of entertainment the world needed. Those massive movies based on the books by J. R. R. Tolkien hit that sweet spot and became genre masterpieces. They deserved a series of talks on the podcast.
