Hey all, Will Johnson here. I am writing this post in… super… slow… motion. Can you tell? I’m in a dark room surrounded by dark clouds and I’m brooding and I’m so edgy and The Fountainhead just isn’t hitting the spot like it usually does and… you get the point. It’s the Snyder Cut of Cinephile Hissy Fit! Yes, that does mean it is longer.
As is usually the case around here at 25YL with most high-profile films, I watched Zack Snyder’s Justice League and complained about it to Cinephile Hissy Fit co-host Don Shanahan in private with all caps and lots of intense memes. Don, ever the professional, went ahead and wrote a balanced, nuanced film review for the four hour three minute behemoth. Because I have control of the social media accounts and I get to write these little summaries, my voice is the loudest and most obnoxious and sullies even good-natured attempts at criticism—kind of like the #releasethesnydercut maniacs on Twitter. Come to think of it…I, uh, don’t exactly practice what I preach, do I?.

No no, I didn’t get that crazy but on Episode 4 of Cinephile Hissy Fit, we do have an extended discussion of Snyder’s long-gestating passion project that shows Wonder Woman happily beheading people. We also discuss online fan culture, the suspension of disbelief when it comes to superhero cinema, and the future of movie making thanks to a very large and vocal fan movement, amongst other topics.
So without further ado, enjoy episode four of Cinephile Hissy Fit where Don (The Lover) and Will (The Hater) discuss Zack Snyder’s Justice League! May God have mercy on your souls—and your bladder, if you choose to watch the film in one sitting. Cinephile Hissy Fit is a 25YL production and a part of the Ruminations Radio Network.
