Furiosa Chases the Cinephile Hissy Fit Podcast

Anya Taylor-Joy in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (Warner Bros.)

Looking back to 2015, the hosts of the Cinephile Hissy Fit podcast sponsored and supported by the Ruminations Radio Network were split on George Miller’s valiant return to the Wasteland with Mad Max: Fury Road. Will Johnson was the kind of film aficionado who joined many others to rank the wild ride as one of the best action movies of the century. Coming from another turnpike, Don Shanahan found it plotless and empty beyond its undoubtedly awesome stunts and visuals. What they two could agree on was the strength and impact of the Furiosa character played by Charlize Theron. The thought of a Furiosa prequel got their motors running.

For their 160th episode, two gas-powered film critics, two demented dads, and two hard-driving teachers, Will and Don, return from brief and busy end-of-the-school-year hiatus to muscle into the 2024 summer box office landscape. Much like the receipts coming in, they find a wasteland more than landscape to discuss George Miller’s prequel Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. One of our guys was chugging gasoline about the new movie and another was spitting it out. Come learn more and stay for the mutual love and respect for the fun movies encapsulate. Enjoy our podcast!
