The Oscars may be over for the Cinephile Hissy Fit podcast, sponsored and supported by the Ruminations Radio Network, but the wake of 2022’s strong movies continues to flow. While both of our hosts have strong and discerning tastes, our guys sometimes need a nudge to pay attention and keep up with some films that surpass the auteur’s high bar that exists in cinema. There was no shortage of those in 2022 and the show brings in a “tiebreaker” guest to lift them up.

For their 103rd episode, two post-Oscar film critics, tone-deaf dads, and two unkind teachers Will Johnson and Don Shanahan welcome back returning guest Barbara VanDenburgh of USA Today to discuss one of her top films of 2022: TAR starring Cate Blanchett. Barbara, as always, blows the doors off the podcast as she gives Will and Don all new angles to think about and a TikTok handle to subscribe to when discussing Todd Field’s challenging and Oscar-nominated opus. Come for the shared challenge and tirade and stay for the mutual love and respect for the fun movies encapsulate. Enjoy our podcast!
