Who can remake a Best Picture-winning classic and not get questioned? One of the very few answers you’re going to find to that question is Steven Spielberg. Yet, here we are with his first-ever musical and all of the decades-long love bestowed upon 1961’s West Side Story. The lesson here becomes to never doubt Steven Spielberg because he exceeded as many expectations as he quieted doubts with his remake of West Side Story.

For their 44th episode, 25YL film critics and finger-snapping school teachers Will Johnson and Don Shanahan find themselves dancing in the podcast streets to Steven Spielberg’s new incarnation of the classic musical. The resulting movie is big, loud, and flashy, but will either host pull any switchblades to knife the other’s joy or the movie’s Oscar chances? Grab your dancing partner and find out in this week’s episode.
